Two ways to buy

Pre-order the exact truck, or take one from stock.

Pre-order from Japan

Tell us the truck. We find it in Japan.

4WD, low range, dump bed, Jumbo cab: you choose the spec and approve the truck, its auction sheet and its build month before we buy. A $1,500 sourcing deposit starts the search once you approve a budget. It is credited to the truck's price.

Why buy through us

A Japan partner who buys. A Michigan team that sells.

Many US kei truck sellers buy through a Japanese exporter they have never met. Our partner works inside the Japanese used-vehicle market, and Hadi runs sales, titles and delivery from Wayne, Michigan. Before we bid on any truck, we check four things.

We buy in Japan ourselves

Our partner works inside the Japanese used-vehicle trade and buys at the dealer auctions. No middle exporter, no mystery markup.

Build month, not model year

A truck must be 25 years old by its date of manufacture. A truck listed as "2001" may not qualify yet, so we confirm the build month on every one before we bid.

Accident-repair history

Japanese listings flag repaired trucks (shūfukureki). We tell you if a truck has it, and skip it unless you want it at a lower price.

Rust underneath

Many affordable 4WD trucks come from snowy regions such as Hokkaido and Nagano. We get underbody photos and the auction sheet before bidding.

Timing belt

The Sambar EN07, Acty E07A and Carry F6A engines use timing belts. Unless there is a record, we budget a belt service before delivery.

How a pre-order works

Five steps, and you approve the truck.

Usually 10 to 15 weeks from approving a truck to delivery in Michigan, depending on ship schedules and customs.

Built for Michigan work

The little truck that does the big jobs.

4WD matters most to Michigan buyers, then low range, a diff lock and a dump bed. Michigan titles kei trucks 25 years and older for the road.

  • Farms and orchards
  • Hunting and timber land
  • Up-North cottages and cabins
  • Resorts, campgrounds and golf courses
  • Campus and municipal grounds crews
  • Light snow plowing

Questions

Before you import a kei truck.

  • Are kei trucks legal in the USA?

Kei trucks 25 years and older can be imported. Road use depends on your state. Michigan titles and registers kei trucks and microvans 25 years and older for on-road use if they were built for road use; younger ones can only be titled off-road. Check your own state before you buy.

  • How much do kei trucks cost?

On Bring a Trailer in 2025 and 2026, the median sold price for each model's kei trucks and vans was about $6,900 for the Suzuki Carry, $7,900 for the Honda Acty, $8,400 for the Daihatsu Hijet and $9,100 for the Subaru Sambar. Clean, low-mileage 4WD trucks sell for more. Prices are quoted before Michigan's 6% sales tax, title and plates.

  • How long does it take to import a kei truck?

Usually 10 to 15 weeks from approving a truck to delivery in Michigan, depending on ship schedules and customs.

  • How do the payments work?

To start the search: $1,500. Sourcing deposit. Refunded in full if we find no matching truck within 60 days. When you approve a truck: $3,000. Paid after you approve the photos, the translated auction sheet and the build month. From here the truck is yours and this payment is non-refundable. On delivery: Balance. The rest of the agreed price, when the truck is ready in Wayne or before it is trucked to you.

  • Can I drive a kei truck on the road outside Michigan?

It depends on the state. Indiana has a registration for mini trucks. Ohio limits them to roads posted at 35 mph or less. Wisconsin generally allows them. Rules change, so check with your state's DMV before you buy; we supply the federal import documents either way.
